This active outdoor club provides Oakmont residents the opportunity to hike with others in local parks and open space areas. Most club hikes are held in Sonoma, Marin and Napa counties. As well, the club sponsors an annual potluck dinner, a summertime barbecue, and a Spring and a Fall “Tri-Nitter” hiking getaway.
Short Hikes are 2 to 4 miles in length with minimum elevation gain on good surfaces at an easy pace. Short hikes leave Berger at 9:00 AM on the first Thursday of each month.
Intermediate Hikes are 4 to 7 miles in length, up to 1000’ elevation gain on a variety of trails and surfaces. Intermediate hike leave Berger 9:00 AM on the second, third and fourth Thursdays of each month.
Long Hikes are 6 to 11 miles in length with up to 2000’ plus elevation gain on all types of trails and surfaces. The hikes normally are divided into faster and slower paced groups. Long hikes leave at 8:30 AM on the first, third and fifth Thursday of each month.
