OAKMONT VILLAGE CENTRAL PROJECT COMMITTEE

This committee is charged with conducting a comprehensive space audit on all uses and occupancy of all OVA facilities, including facilities within the current Central, West and East Recreation Areas, with the goal of diagnosing and recommending space requirements for current and future activities in OVA. These current and projected needs are to be documented and be inclusive of all OVA activities, conducted both indoors and outdoors

The Committee shall include the following in their report:

A) Chart of the current space allocation and usage(s). Facility plans and statistical usage included.

B) Recommendation of space allocation (size) for activities at Central, the delta from “A” above; this will be achieved using recent committee findings, interviews, focus groups, observation, or similar methods.

C) OVA space needs, in general. These should be considered in addition to current Central Area Activities
D) The Berger Improvement Committee Findings and recommendations

E) Analysis and recommendations of Capital Budgeting Needs as well as financing options & requirements to meet needs. Both qualitative and quantitative analyses should be incorporated which include inspections and measurements. A process methodology shall bechosen by the task force. Task force members must possess the skills and experiences to perform the data collection, analyses and recommendations.

The task force shall present its recommendations and findings by the August 2016 board meeting. Parking is understood to be a variable and issue to be included in all conceptual recommendations.

CENTRAL PROJECT COMMITTEE MEMBERS

Herm Hermann – Chair

Herm is an OVA Board Member about to begin his sixth year serving as such. Herm has been active in many projects and activities related to the Association, including time spent on the Architectural and Long Range Planning Committees.

Noel Lyons

Noel has lived in Oakmont since 2002. As a degreed engineer, Noel spent most of his professional career in product development, planning, and marketing and ultimately general management. In Oakmont, Noel has served on various standing and ad hoc committees, has been a director of the Meadowgreen II Association and also on the board of the Oakmont Village Association, serving as OVA Treasurer. Noel was also a member of the Berger Improvement Committee.

Kathy Cirksena

Kathy Cirksena has a PhD in Communication Research and 40 years experience directing studies on a variety of topics including time use and resource utilization. Cirksena directed the 2015 Oakmont Residents Survey and was on the committee that produced OVA’s “Oakmont Touches Lives” nonprofits showcase. She volunteered to join the Central Project Committee to contribute her expertise to designing and implementing needed data collection and analysis.

Pat Brownlie

Pat has been a member of the Oakmont Long Range Planning Committee. She brings much experience as an IT professional in data management and business process management.

Jim Sannar

Jim is a California native and a Sonoma County resident since 1971. Jim has been in Oakmont since 2005. He has had careers as an Educator, Real Estate Broker, and General Contractor.

Dave Johnson

Dave has been an Oakmont resident for 25 years. He has served on the OVA Board of Directors as Vice President and the Oakmont Community Development Committee for the past 12 plus years. Dave was also a Santa Rosa Planning Commissioner for 5 years and represented Oakmont on the Santa Rosa Community Advisory Board for 6 years. Dave brings to the Committee knowledge in Space Planning and Santa Rosa City Zoning requirements.

Claudette Brero-Gow

Claudette has 40 years of experience in the construction industry.  She owned her own commercial general contracting firm, and became the largest woman owned contractor in the US. She has also been an owners representative for the City of San Jose, plus two college districts.

Greg Goodwin

Greg And his wife Linda moved to Oakmont in 2000.  He worked for the Postal Service for 33 years and served over 25 years in supervisory, managerial and Postmaster positions.  Greg’s duties included daily accountability for over a half million dollars of Postal stock, overseeing union contract negotiations/arbitration cases, employee safety concerns and logistics coordination.  Greg retired in 2012 and has also owned and operated a landscaping business and has taught music.  He also has a background in grant writing for open space and parks.

The Central Project Committee will be utilizing the productive results and recommendations from the Berger Improvement Committee and expanded the scope to include the needs of the Central facilities. The completed reports and work done by the Berger Committee may be viewed HERE.
