11-15-2018 Wii Bowling Oakmont Lanes

Oakmont Lanes Bowling Club is a Bowling League consisting of four-person teams that utilize Nintendo Wii to simulate the experience of bowling without the weight of a bowling ball. Any resident who has the ability of holding a small remote control in their hand while swinging their arm as if they were rolling a bowling ball will be able to join.

Anyone interested in joining our Club, either as a team bowler or substitute, please call Terry at 538-9177 or Diane at 538-3365 or stop by the West Recreation Center on Tuesdays from 3-4:30pm to see us in action. BOWLING DATES DURING EAST REC REMODEL: We move to West Rec with the following schedule. 3:15 League bowls 1st and 3rd Tuesdays, 11/20 3-4:30pm. 1:30 League bowls 2nd and 4th Tuesdays, 11/27 3-4:30pm. Fall playoffs 12/4, West Rec at 3pm-4:30pm.

FUN DAY: On October 30, bowlers were challenged to celebrate Halloween (dress up for best costume prize) with the following Nintendo Wii bowling training practice. Spare Pickup: as spares get increasing difficult, who can get the most spares in a row; Power Throws: as pins increase every throw, who can get the most pins and Spin Control: blockers are setup to forge bowers to navigate around blockers to pick up a pin. Sandra Pessner baked brownies and made apple desserts with ice cream. Winners received $5 gift Certificates to Safeway. Winners are: Most Spares, Fritzie Amantite(12), Shirley Jamison and Nicole Reed tie(11). Power Throws, Shirley Jamison(544), Nicole Reed(515). Spin Control, Juan Fuentes(10), Nicole Reed and Christian van den Berghe tie(9). Juan Fuentes won best costume of Hew Hefner, complete with sport coat and pipe($10).
