A NEW YEAR A NEW POLICY
SIR (SENIORS IN RETIREMENT) 92 IS LEADING THE CHANGE IN MEMBERSHIP BY PILOTING WOMEN AS FULL MEMBERS.

SIR has been a men’s club over the years with social activities for men. Branch 92 is opening the door to all to join and enjoy the social activities designed for all seniors. Branch 92 has invited women as guests for years. Now women may participate in all activities and roles as full members. We all know that creating a club means it takes a village to make it happen. We have enjoyed having women edit our Newsletter, decorate our special events, as speakers and having them come as guests. Now, we would like to have women join us in decision making roles as well.

We just had a wonderful and amazing presentation on “Wild Life Photography” with discussion on the wildlife in Africa and the special contacts our presenter, Ron Elkind, a SIR member, had with some of the villagers during the photographic safari.

Our next meeting, February 8, 2022 at 11:30 AM on Zoom, will feature one of Oakmont’s treasures. John Phillips who runs the Fitness Center will address the special exercises and dietary matters that pertain to seniors.
