A Very Hot Successful Shred-A-Thon

Friday, June 10, was the hottest day of the month, but the Kiwanis Club members were at the Berger Center parking lot putting Oakmonters important papers into barrels which are then emptied into the big shredding machine truck. It took a lot of water to fuel the Kiwanians, but the job got done. Kiwanis members now know the owner of the shredding truck quite well. He’s a big help to the group. In talking to him he said he has 4 shredding trucks and they cost $250,000 each. Imagine how much paper is shredded each month. What an amazing difference from a century ago. The Kiwanis Club Members are busily planning their next big event, the Carnitas and Margaritas Dinner will be on Saturday, August 13, at the Berger Center starting at 5 p.m. It is anticipated that this event will sell out fast. For tickets contact any Kiwanian or Pat Vueve at 707-490-6020. Tickets are $30 and include one margarita. If your name is Rita you get a free extra margarita.
