Steve Spanier

Steve was President of the Oakmont Village Association Board of Directors from April 2018 till November 2020 when he resigned for family reasons. He has served on a number of Oakmont club boards over the eight years he and his wife Elaine Booth have lived in Oakmont.

Steve’s working career spanned decades working for public- and private-sector high technology companies including the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Sun Microsystems and Cisco Systems. Since retiring, Steve has held a variety of volunteer jobs. Working to forward various progressive causes, he has run a non-profit, hosted a radio show and taught at the Osher Lifelong Learning programs of both University of California Irvine and Cal State Fullerton.

On State of the Association Addresses and Governance Mandates

One year ago, you elected me and four others to join Carolyn Bettencourt and Greg Goodwin in service of our community. This month, you re-elected all four incumbents to continue to serve Oakmont. To paraphrase a song from the early 1970s, “Meet the new board, same as the old board.”
