BOCCE CLUB BOARD MEETING

  • Linda and Don McPherson
Competitors awaiting the chip draw for last year’s St. Patrick’s Day Tourney, which drew a full slate of players wearing an abundance of green.

The Bocce Club Board met on January 30 and heard reports from the president, vice president, treasurer, social committee, publicity co-chairs, and court maintenance overseer. Securing a portable leaf vacuum is being explored. The club continues to grow and as of late January has 106 members. Membership and Dues forms are available at the Bocce Courts and in the Bocce Club folder at OVA.

CLUB PLAY & OPEN PLAY

During Winter hours all three West Rec. Bocce courts are reserved solely for club play Monday through Saturday beginning at 1:00 pm and continuing until club play has concluded on all courts.

Courts are available for open play at other times by Club members and both Club members and non-member Oakmont residents may reserve courts. Members using the Bocce facilities during non-club play times are reminded to return all equipment, including balls and measuring tools, to the shed; restore scoring pegs to the zero position on score boards; lower all umbrellas; and secure the shed with the combination lock. Non-members may reserve the courts by contacting the Club Vice President and are responsible for providing their own equipment and observing the posted rules for court use.
