Would Your Dog Be A Good Therapy Dog?

• Don’t miss the clubs first meeting for 2019 on Tuesday, January 22nd at the West Rec 4pm – 6pm.

Donna Forst of “Paws 4 Healing” is our guest speaker. If you ever thought about taking your dog for nursing home visits, or to a library to read with children, you will not want to miss this presentation. All sorts of dogs can become certified, young, old, big & small. Come hear all about how this non-profit organization is improving the lives of people and how you can be a part of it.

Have You Visited Our Web Site Yet?

• We have not had any new photos of your fury friends sent in for a while. The dogs currently on the Gallery of the Club’s web site are getting lonely! Please send your photos to Steve, our “Membership Guy” so your pup can join the others on the web site. If you have not been there before, the Gallery is at http://oakmontcanineclub.org/gallery

What’s Happening With The Dog Park and What Should We Name It? • As you likely already know, the OVA Board passed the Resolution to establish a Dog Park in Oakmont! The entrance to the Dog Park will be near the end of the Volunteer Trail that runs past the Community Garden on Stone Bridge Rd. At just under an acre, this will provide a great place for our dogs to run and play and for their owners to socialize. We don’t yet have any timeline of when it will be completed as there is still a lot of work to do such as getting City permits, hiring contractors, and doing the actual work. We will keep you updated as we move along. Meanwhile we need a name for the Dog Park. The Ad Hoc Dog Park Committee is bouncing around some ideas, but we’d like to hear from you also. If you have an idea for a name, do let us know.
