Covid here, there, everywhere. Avoid crowds. Avoid stores. Avoid kissing, hugging, shaking a hand or standing too close. Go back to Zoom, but that might change. Covid Confusion is everyone’s long haul.

Pressured by all things Covid, first of the year resolutions could be forgotten…by the scent of chocolate. During the Valentine month this temptation is “a little love in a nibble.” But a nibble grows to a bite…or two. Then guilt reaches for a third…and fourth. By then, bon-bon papers have been tossed, right along with new year’s resolution.

Well, resolutions can be renewed at any time, February 12, March 30, July 18, for example. When enjoyed in moderation, calories in are balanced by calories out. Exercise. Avoid being a martyr to strict dieting or over-zealous exercising; enjoy a lifestyle of an occasional truffle…and moderate exercise.

Oakmont Health Initiative knows these issues: Covid, Chocolate and the need to exercise. OHI has you covered. When health mandates keep exercise sessions out of Berger, members tune in via Zoom (967 9942 2442, passcode 573596) or on recordings of past sessions found on the OHI website. The route to recordings: oakmntvillage.com/events/club lists/alphabetical/health initiative (OHI)/ Zoom only OR OHI recorded classes.

During the love month of February, 2022, remember to love yourself. Stay clear of hard-to-control food and stay with your exercise resolve. When you do, there is one guarantee: February, 2023, you’ll be glad you did.
