New Club forming in Oakmont Village, It’s called the Critter Cam Club.

Our mission:

To build a relationship with the community to share data and provide a strong foundation and build a knowledge-base for residents with nature and science and for the well- being of humanity.

The thought was to have a local Oakmont club that could set up cameras on homes and have the images or videos uploaded to a website (to be determined). During the daytime or night, captured images-videos data could include any wildlife in the property lines of Oakmont, which will include the starting borders of Annadel Mountain, local creeks, and ponds. The data could be submitted by a physical sim card, uploaded online, or sent by a smartphone. With this information our group would focus on evaluating what breeds, the age, color, and sex and how many were seen.

We would gather the data to be submitted on our website and other data recovery methods to be sent to other organizations that receive this kind of data for research and development, such as Wildlife Insights (https://www.conservation.org/about) or iNaturist.org. We could have a mounted video display system for the OVA office and/or local real estate brokers to use the presentation as a means of marketing our community.

Join our club by submitting your full names, email/phone, and an Oakmont home address for OVA verification purposes and if you have a camera already to jtan8217@gmail.com.

Critters alive!
