Farewell Celebration for Lee & Brinda Peterson and Jim Corwanski

Our Oakmont Community Church family and friends joined in a celebration lunch following the May 29 Sunday Service to say farewell to our beloved Pastor, Brinda Peterson, and her husband Lee. Also moving away at the end of May was Jim, our Media Tech. We are all sad to see them leave, they will definitely be missed! It was very special to gather together and wish them every success to carry the Word of God to their new communities. The Petersons will be visiting family members and probably relocating in Texas near their daughter and grandchildren. As “Reverends on the Road” they will be videotaping messages to continue to share God’s Word from where they travel. Jim and his family are moving to Virginia where they bought a home near family there. Our church has been blessed to have such an energetic Pastor these past 5 years and her dedicated husband, Lee, who was our Music Leader, tech support and on occasion, our Barbeque Master Chef. Their selfless loving example toward our church members has brought us all closer together as one family serving God together.

We hope you will come and visit us on Sundays at 10:30 am at the East Rec to share in a variety of special messages and events that we are planning. Next Sunday, June 19, Allan Linton will share a special Father’s Day Message, and the last week in May we will have a musical worship service led by Julie and Sylvan, and a couple of surprise musicians, you won’t want to miss it, so invite your friends and neighbors to join you!

Attention Ladies: On Saturday, June 25 our church is hosting a Ladies Tea at the East Rec Center from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. You may bring a guest or two. If you plan to attend kindly call Jeannine to RSVP at (530) 680-7035 with your name and your guests name/s and a contact number. This is an excellent opportunity to meet new people and share in the fun.
May God be the light in your soul and bring hope to your hearts!
