Genealogy Club (1/15/2019)

  • Melinda Price

The first meeting in 2019 of the Genealogy Club will be on Monday Jan 28 at the West Rec at 1:00!

At that meeting one of our members, Jim Ouimette, will present “Find my Croatian Ancestry and the Family’s Reaction”, and will take us through how he learned about his Croatian Ancestry and then tried to explain it to his mother and her family. Croatia, which includes the Dalmatian Coast and the city of Dubrovnik on the Adriatic Sea, is a Christian (Catholic) country with a long and rich history from Roman times to today. Whether you have Croatian ancestry or not, it is always interesting to learn how other people research their own ancestry.

The Oakmont Genealogy Club regularly meets upstairs in the West Rec Center on the 4th Monday of each month (except July & December) at 1:00 PM. There are no club dues, and everyone is welcome to attend our meetings, both newbies and experienced researchers. For information about genealogy research or club activities please visit our website at: www.oakgenclub.org. If you have research questions or would like to receive our e-newsletter, email: oakmontancestry@aol.com
