February 18, 2020 – Management Report

Annual Meeting and Election of Directors: Oakmont’s annual membership meeting and the election of directors is scheduled for the first Monday in April and will be held in the Berger on April 6, 2020. The meeting will start at 10:00 a.m., and the ballots for the election of directors will be tabulated on the same day. Self-Nominations were accepted until February 1, 2020 – and will also be received at the Annual Meeting before the close of nominations (approximately 10:00 a.m.

This year, four incumbents have put their name in the hat, listed below in random order:

1. Marianne Neufeld

2. Jess Marzak

3. Steve Spanier, and

4. Tom Kendrick

Candidates Night is scheduled for February 26, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. in the Berger.

Contracts: OVA has coordinated with various contractors to work with Oakmont with the following agreements signed: Archilogix for architecture; Solarcraft/Tritec for solar power in the CAC, East, and Rec parking lots. The contract with Mitchell Landscape for building the dog park will be signed this week. We look forward to working with these long term business relationships.

Civil Code, §4705. Display of U.S. Flag.

(a) Except as required for the protection of the public health or safety, no governing document shall limit or prohibit, or be construed to limit or prohibit, the display of the 􀀁ag of the United States by a member on or in the member’s separate interest or within the member’s exclusive use common area.

(b) For purposes of this section, “display of the flag of the United States” means a flag of the United States made of fabric, cloth, or paper displayed from a staff or pole or in a window, and does not mean a depiction or emblem of the flag of the United States made of lights, paint, roofing, siding, paving materials, flora, or balloons, or any other similar building, landscaping, or decorative component.

(c) In any action to enforce this section, the prevailing party shall be awarded reasonable attorney’s fees and costs.
