DEMO DAY OPEN TO ALL OAKMONT RESIDENTS
Lawn bowling is a bit like bocce, but it’s played on grass with a “bowl” that ISN’T a ball and it ISN’T round!

If you’ve thought about giving it a try, you’re in luck . . . mark your calendar and come join us on the Green next to the Central Activities Center for DEMO DAY:

Monday, July 26, 10 am to noon.

Lawn bowling is not only fun and easy to learn; it’s great exercise and a wonderful way to meet new friends. You might even win a bottle of wine!

We’ll have bowls for you to use, refreshments for all, and our Club members will be there to show you the basics. So, wear your comfortable, smooth-sold shoes, and come meet us on the Green.

: Janet, Jeannette and Juan come to watch the final round of the Open Pairs Tournament

INDEPENDENCE DAY TOURNAMENT
Find photos on our website. We had our first triples game since March, 2020! There were 18 players, 6 teams, 3 games. If your name was Jim, you were on a winning team. Winners were:
– Jim Krause with Linda Pickell and Jim Brewer
– Bob Stephens with Marilyn Garland and Juan Fuentes
– Greg Goodwin with Mary Blake and Jimmy Albert

THANKS TO THOSE WHO CAME TO WATCH
The last several games have included on-lookers. Some dropped by for a little bit, some stayed for the entire tournament. But they all made the games more fun. Thanks to those who cheered the bowlers on!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR DEMO DAY MONDAY JULY 26
Contact Tony Lachowicz or Mark Johnston if you can help out on Demo Day.

GRANDPARENTS’ DAY THURSDAY JULY 29
This is a first for the Lawn Bowling Club. We’ll show a few brave grandkids (10+ years old) and their grandparents what lawn bowling is like. We’ll use our lightest bowls, a half rink, some food, and prizes. If you can help, contact Bob Stephens.
