Golf Deals Close, Plans Announced

OVA Completes Golf Club Purchase

The Oakmont Village Association (OVA) is delighted to announce it has successfully completed the purchase of the assets of the Oakmont Golf Club, including the land and golf course facilities. OVA does not intend to operate or manage the golf course facilities or employ any individuals who may work on the property. Rather, the land, including the golf course facilities, have been simultaneously leased to an independent company, Advance Golf Partners (AGP).

AGP has informed OVA that, over the next month or more, it will renovate the property in anticipation of a grand opening to occur sometime in early Spring. During this period, the golf course facilities will be closed. AGP has informed us that golfing, walking, riding bicycles and otherwise being on the golf courses is not permitted during this closure.

AGP tells us it plans a more extensive renovation, anticipated to begin late this year. The more extensive renovation will focus on the dining experience at a new clubhouse and will feature a completely new dining room configuration and menu.

AGP has also informed us that it intends to open and operate two golf clubs, called Valley of the Moon Golf Club (the old West course) and Sugarloaf Golf Club (the old East course). The former Quail Inn building will be reimagined as a new restaurant called Luna. The former East golf course clubhouse will be reimagined as The Sugar Shack. The Sugar Shack will not cook food, but will become a neighborhood gathering spot with, at a minimum, breakfast pastries, coffee drinks and pizza delivered from Luna.

OVA is pleased to have secured control of the roughly 250 acres of land and buildings in the center of our community. We’re fortunate to have found an experienced, knowledgeable tenant and operator to work its magic on the property.
