Holidays, 2021 may be just a memory but 2022 offers new-days, filled with potential and possibilities. These days offer a start to undo, unwrap, unearth.
Undo clutter of not only holiday glitter, but also the mind clutter of motivational dampening thoughts. Self-sabotaging undermines goals and enthusiasm. Undo those paralyzing thoughts and….
Unwrap walking shoes; take a short jaunt to the mailbox, the corner or to a neighbor’s home to say “happy new year.”
Unearth reasons to move forward, more on….indeed, just move. Physical movement improves mind and emotion, not to mention the body.

Behavioral psychologists tell us “It takes thirty days to change a habit.” Why not go for this month? Could your goal, during the next four weeks, be to get up early and walk each day for twenty minutes? (Set your alarm and put shoes next to bed.) Is it to drink six glasses of water daily? (One glass before and one after each meal.) Are you setting a goal to lose five pounds? (Because 3,500 calories equals about 1 pound of fat, it’s estimated that if you cut—or burn—an extra 650 calories a day, you’d lose about 1 to 2 pounds a week.) Perhaps your goal is to exercise with JoRene during the entire month of January?

Get a head start on January, make a goal. You’ll be so proud of yourself.

Word to the wise: For your safety, good balance and lateral movement are needed for quick aerobic moves. A fall may cause serious injury. Check with your doctor prior to beginning any exercise regimen. All Free Fitness Classes are too large to accommodate those who need special supervision. If you have shoulder, back, knee problems, anything that is painful, it is advisable to join a smaller, well-supervised class first, and consult a personal trainer or medical professional to learn modifications that are suitable to your condition. Participants need to use their judgment and body awareness… altering each exercise to prevent injury.  Be careful dear ones. Welcome!
