MARCH 21 INTERMEDIATE HIKE: COYOTE RIDGE TO TENNESSEE VALLEY
This 6-mile hike with 1,000’ elevation gain is moderately steep in places. We’ll climb the Miwok Trail out of Tennessee Valley (in Mill Valley) to the Coyote Ridge Trail, which provides stunning 3600 views of the ocean, bay, valleys, and Mount Tam. Descending on the Coastal Trail fire road to Tennessee Valley, we’ll walk to the beach for lunch. From the beach it’s an easy 2-mile walk back to our cars on mostly flat trails through beautiful Tennessee Valley. Bring lunch, water, hiking poles. Heavy rain cancels. MARCH 21 LONG HIKE: ARMSTRONG WOODS
March 21: Long Hike: Armstrong Woods – Please join us for a 7 mile hike with an elevation gain of 1660 feet starting in the redwood grove and ascending up Pool Ridge trail. We will take in the view of the Austin Creek Recreation Area and return to the parking lot via East Ridge Trail. Meet at Berger Center for an 8:30 a.m. departure. Bring lunch, water and hiking poles. MARCH 28 INTERMEDIATE HIKE: ANNADEL LOOP AROUND LAKE ILSANJO
A loop hike that begins with a steep climb up North Burma, follows Live Oak to Lake Ilsanjo, and then returns via Steve’s S and Channel Trails. Approximately 6 miles and 700′ of elevation gain. Terrain will be partly rocky and probably muddy, so boots and poles are recommended in addition to water and lunch. Hike leader is Becky Brown, 282-9941. Leave Berger Center at 9:00 a.m.
MARCH 28 LONG HIKE: JACK LONDON, HAYFIELDS
A moderate, scenic hike (7.8 mi, 1500′) on the Mountain and Hayfields Trails in Jack London State Park. We might be lucky enough to catch some early spring wildflowers.
