JUNE 6 LONG HIKE

HEARTS DESIRE

Please join us for a 9.5 mile hike with an elevation gain of 1650 feet starting at the Shell Beach trail head, for and out and back hike to Hearts Desire beach. Meet at Berger Center for an 8:30 a.m. departure. Bring lunch, water and hiking poles. The hike leaders are Jewel Watterson and Lorna King, 707-331-8007 or hikingohc@gmail.com

JUNE 6 SHORT HIKE

HOWARTH PARK / SPRING LAKE

This hike, after meeting up at the Berger Center at 9:00 a.m., will drive to Summerfield Rd, park near the tennis courts and we will walk through Howarth Park, around Spring Lake and back. About 4 miles and modest elevation (up over the dam) End of hike options!! Lunch at East West Café, Mary’s or see a film at the Cinemas. JUNE 13 INTERMEDIATE HIKE

MOUNT TAMALPAIS – MATT DAVIS AND TROOP 80 TRAILS

This 5.1-mile hike with 550’ elevation gain, is 60% shaded, rocky in places, on south-facing ridges, into redwood canyons and over creeks, on trails offering views of the city and coast. From the parking area at Mountain Home Inn we will go west on Matt Davis Trail to the Bootjack

Picnic Area. From Bootjack we’ll go downhill on Matt Davis Trail to Van Wyck Meadow, then head east on Troop 80 trail back to Mountain Home Inn. Bring lunch, water, hiking poles. Hike leader is Linne McAleer, 415-847-4420. NOTE EARLY START TIME: leave Berger at 8:30 a.m.

A REMINDER TO ALL HIKERS: If the hiking trail is more than 30 miles round trip from Oakmont, it is customary to compensate your driver at least $5.00 for gas.
