‘Hope For America awards” presented to Kenwood Elementary School Students

The main goal of Kiwanis members is to work with children, and as written in the Kiwanis magazine, “to make lasting differences in the lives of children.” To this end, the club supports Key Clubs at Montgomery and Maria Carrillo High Schools and many groups that work with children of all ages. There was a big audience at Kenwood School on May 31st for the awards program. All the school students, teachers, parents and 6 Kiwanians enjoyed a very touching presentation. Kiwanis members Fran Lazzarini and Charles Ensley presented the awards to deserving students EVA KOMAR and CAMERON MENEFEE, 5th graders in teacher JOHN MAGNOLI’S class and NILA MALAVA and DAVID BOVITZ in teacher CELIA SEDGWICK’S 6th grade class. Besides supporting these schools your Oakmont Kiwanis Club supports our community by conducting the twice a year Shred-A-Thon and Veteran’s Day program. Members support the Visual Aids Braille Group, Valley of the Moon Children’s Home and Boys and Girls Club of Santa Rosa to name some groups . If the Oakmont Kiwanis Club sounds like a service club you would enjoy, we need you. Consider joining us. Contact President Fran Lazzarini by Email: franlazz43@aol.com or phone: 707-521-9024.
