Jazz Club: Upcoming Meeting

  • Dolora Hurst
We thank Larry Vuckovich for his program of  “The History of Jazz”. We so often think that jazz music began in the Southern states of America. What treasures those old pieces are that come from various countries around the World. The melodies and rhythms are truly beautiful. This month of December, we have a stellar program for the club. We will meet December 7th, in room B,
of the Central Activities Center, at 2;00 PM. The address is 310 White Oak Drive. Please bring your identification badge for entrance into the building. Our member Tom Murray will present two 30 minute’ recordings of a jazz program that was broadcast on WGBH, the public jazz station in Boston, in the 1960’s.The show was hosted by Herb Pomeroy. Tom will also play a show featuring trumpeter Dizzy Gillespie and his quintet, as well as one other show. All jazz loving people are invited to join us.
