DROP IN DAYS We are open for drop-in’s, weather permitting, Saturday mornings through September 30. Anyone interested in learning about our club is invited to drop by and get a little private instruction.

Our May membership drive brought a lot of interest and some new members. Right now we have four bowlers who have been recently certified: Jeff Hill, Mike McInnis, Charlene Grimm and Bob Stephens. Another three are taking lessons. Everyone has done a lot to make these work, but special shout-outs to Jim Krause, Tony Lachowicz, Linda Rubio and Mark Johnston, who has stepped up to manage the July 15 Demo Day.

Open Pairs was started on June 13th with 24 bowlers, and after three elimination rounds Tom Ternullo and Jeannette Breglio outlasted Jim Krause and Linda Pickell in a match that all agreed was much closer than the 16-11 final score indicated. Frank Gyorgy and Ted DeJung wound up in third place. There were some very close rounds. In the second elimination, Frank/ Ted and Bonnie Johnston and Liliane Rains were tied after the regulation 14 ends and had to play an extra end tie breaker.

Eight teams competed in the June 28 Vet-Novice Tournament on a weather-perfect Friday morning. By press time, the last round had yet to be played, but Jeana Garcia and Pam Dempsey were were headed to the final match against Tom Ternullo and me — Jim (lucky draw) Brewer.
