Living with Fires – November 4 at 4 PM

On November 4 a joint meeting of the Futures and Symposium groups was held on Living with Fire.  Our speaker/discussion leader was Dr. Sasha Berleman.  Dr. Berleman is the Bay Area’s expert in Forest Fire Management and spoke on the topic.  The reality is that California’s forests are tinderboxes and need to be managed differently – one of her main areas of focus is prescribed burns.  The difficult thing is that there will be ongoing fires, but California can learn how to move forward and live with that reality.
