For over a year Oakmont residents have shown how much they care for those unfortunate 100,000 who obtain food from the Redwood Empire Food Bank (REFB). SIR 92 was proud of this partnership. Unfortunately. a few in the past few weeks have misused these barrels which are clearly marked for FOOD donation. As one can see in the photo those clothes I took out of one barrel are NOT food items. REFB does not take anything other than NON-PERISHABLE food. Also found has been perishables and garbage. These few have spoiled it for the rest of us. The food barrel program initiated by SIR 92 is now stopped. Those who donate and show how caring Oakmont residents are will now have to drive out of Oakmont to make donations.
