After being released from the hospital and on the verge of losing her job, Sandra (Marion Cotillard) comes up with a last-ditch strategy: get her workmates to sacrifice their much-needed bonuses so that she can stay on. With a single weekend to make it work, Sandra and her husband take her crusade for sympathy all over town. The film, a powerful statement on community solidarity, received numerous honors, including a Best Actress Academy Award nomination for Cotillard. (2014), PG-13, 95 minutes. (In French.)

This inspiring made-for-TV film tells the story of salesman Bill Porter (William H. Macy), who came in contact with many people during his decades of knocking on doors. Porter, suffering from cerebral palsy, didn’t allow his condition to stop him from pursuing a career and touching the hearts and lives of many of his customers. Nominated for twelve Emmys, the film won six, including Best Film and Outstanding Actor. Helen Mirren stars as Porter’s mother. (2002), NR, 90 minutes.
December 2, 2 and 7 PM: MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS
In this version of Agatha Christie’s classic mystery, a train ride through Europe on the famed Orient Express becomes the setting for the slaying of an American passenger (Johnny Depp) – and almost everyone on board is a suspect to detective Hercule Poirot (Kenneth Branaugh), including characters played by Judi Dench, Penelope Cruz, Michelle Pfeiffer and Willem Dafoe. The film was nominated for several awards for production and costume design. (2017), PG-13, 104 minutes.
