Oakmont Canine Club News

Save The Date! – Tuesday, April 13th 3:00 PM ………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

Our 2nd Canine Club meeting of 2021 is again a virtual meeting that both you and your pup can attend via ZOOM. We will talk general Canine Club and Dog Park news. Our featured speaker, Shirley Zindler, is founder of Dogwood Animal Rescue. We also have more gift cards and WOOF hats to give away! Previous winners – how about wearing your hat when you attend this time? Names are drawn at the end of the meeting, but you must RSVP to be eligible. Please RSVP to: periolinger@yahoo.com if you plan on attending, or need the link. Not a Canine Club member? That’s OK! All Oakmont dog lovers are welcome to attend. Contact Peri to request a Zoom link or to RSVP.

Dog Loving Volunteers Needed ………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

Do you currently go to the dog park regularly? Then how about volunteering? Volunteers are needed to donate their time (approximately one hour per week) to monitor daily maintenance such as: refilling poop bag dispensers, filling water bowls, clean up doggie deposits, and replacing tennis balls & putting them back in their basket. Really easy stuff! Also, to note any repair issues or aggressive doggie behavior that need to be reported. The following days are open: Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.

Please reply to periolinger@yahoo.com if you are able to assist in this important effort in keeping our Happy Tails Dog Park a beautiful and safe environment.
Thanks in advance!

Big Thank You to the Santa Rosa Cycling Club! …………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

Over the past few weeks very few bicyclists have been seen riding their bikes on our ADA path to the Dog Park. It looks like our outreach to the Santa Rosa Cycling Club, and word of mouth, has worked well to improve the situation. Bike riders seem to really be cooperating. One biker commented that it is important to them to help us take care of the trail and not have any accidents with people/dogs. The new signs are also in place to help cyclist remember. If things continue well in the future, there may be no serious safety issue and no need for the expense of an alternative bike path.

All bicyclists are walking! The unidentified person off to the right, taking a picture, was heard to shout out, “Thank you Santa Rosa Cycling Club”. Want more info about the SRCC? Here is their link https://www.srcc.com/
