Did you celebrate Valentine’s Day? Did you give or get cards, candy, flowers, a dinner out? How did you share love? A poem? A massage? A kind word? Love isn’t just for one Valentine’s day; it’s ongoing, never gone. The opportunities surround us. What about love for self? How do you take care of yourself? The gift we give ourselves — health, mental and physical, is a gift to be nurtured.
JoRene, class instructor of the Free Fitness Class program, shares this gift of health. Through exercise we improve physical and mental fitness. Is there a better gift than that of a vibrant outlook on life?
Welcome to Free Fitness. Being healthy means more than simply being physically active. It’s about maintaining a balanced spirit, mind, and body. This Y class is a place where you can work toward that balance by challenging yourself and fostering connections with friends. In this class, it’s not about your fitness level as much as it is about the benefits of living healthier on the inside as well as the outside.
Equipment: Non-skid yoga mats, knee pad, 3# hand weights, athletic shoes that are supportive but not too grippy. Water bottle – hydration revitalizes.

The fine print: For your safety, good balance and lateral movement are needed in these quick aerobic classes. A fall may cause serious injury. Please check with your doctor prior to beginning this or any exercise regimen.
All Free Fitness Classes are too large to accommodate those who need special supervision. If you have shoulder, back, knee problems, anything that is painful, it is advisable to join a smaller, well-supervised class first, and consult a personal trainer or medical professional to learn modifications that are suitable to your condition. Participants need to use their judgment and body awareness…altering each exercise to prevent injury. Be careful, dear ones. Welcome!
