The Oakmont Plant Care Co-Op continues to update its list and welcome new members–from all areas of Oakmont. The Co-Op is a free service–members simply help each other. If a member has to be away from home and needs plant care (usually watering) then a nearby member is contacted. Members arrange a meeting with each other to work out the plant care details. It’s that simple. No hours or point systems as in some other co-ops. It’s really just neighbors helping neighbors then reciprocating if they are available when they get a call. (Note–plant care is not intended for watering big landscape areas.) Co-op coordinators, Bob and Shirley Phillips, create the membership list and a rough map that shows member’s location. The list is only used among Co-Op members.

To join, please send an email with your contact information (name, preferred email, address, and phone number) to: Please use: ” Want to Join” in subject line. If you are a member from past years, please let the Co-Op know that you want to be added to this update. Consider joining–your geraniums will thank you!

Living in constant concern, anxiety and fear robs the good from each day. Deep breathing and reading comics may be ways to cope. Talking to a positive person might be another. And still a third: exercise.
