Oakmont Seniors traveled to El Cerrito to play at the Berkeley Golf Club on July 31. Yes, the Berkeley Golf Club is actually in El Cerrito in the hills east of Richmond. Built in the early 1920’s it features a gorgeous clubhouse that looks like a building you would see in a British Lord’s estate, complete with leaded glass windows, beautiful woodwork, and a stunning view of the San Francisco Bay. The Berkeley Club was outstanding in their role as hosts with excellent food and a challenging golf course. This writer looks forward to a visit next year, if possible, but will wear long pants next time.
