October 4, Election Town Hall with Councilman Jack Tibbetts

  • By Nadine Condon

The Oakmont Dems will sponsor our Santa Rosa Councilman Jack Tibbetts at an “Election Townhall” on local ballot issues. This non-partisan event will be at the Berger Center on Thursday, October 4, from 6- 7:30 pm. Everyone is welcome. Councilman Tibbetts, a local Montgomery High grad, will discuss and answer questions on the important ballot issues this election, including Measure N, the Housing Recovery Initiative, backed by a coalition of First Responders, Teachers, Seniors, Families and Business Leaders. There will be desserts, general seating, and there is no cost to attend. BRING your questions, MARK your calendars and TELL your friends!

Our September 7 fundraiser for Josh Harder at the Berger Center was a rousing success. We had a large attendance that supported our “Red to Blue” Event which raised funds in support Congressional Candidate Josh Harder’s Campaign. Josh Harder is running to flip the Modesto/Tracy Congressional seat, District 10, from “Red to Blue.” Exact fundraising monies will be reported in the Oct. 1 Oakmont News. We thank the PerSisters and the Progressives for their help and all our volunteers.

A fifth generation Californian, who grew up in Turlock, Candidate Harder graduated from Modesto Public High School, earning a scholarship from the local Rotary and American Legion to attend Stanford. He’s worked in Kenya and Uganda with the Gates Foundation. He studied for an MBA/MPP graduation at Harvard, then joined Venture Partners, helping small businesses grow and create jobs. Now, Josh teaches business at Modesto Junior College.
