YMCA HEALTHY LIVING
Free Classes by JoRene
Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays
9-10 am @ Berger Center
Schools are well into session; weather will be cooling sometime soon and 2019 faces the holiday season. Right around the corner, you’ll be celebrating with family and friends. Think ahead. You’ll want to be, do and look your best. That means keeping in shape, mentally and physically, in other words, exercise. That means commitment.
In addition to the Monday, Wednesday and Friday aerobics at Berger Center, you could consider one of the many exercise opportunities in Oakmont. Walking, swimming, yoga, pilates, small exercise classes at West and East Centers, personal trainer and individual work-out routines at the gym: all are available to Oakmont. If one doesn’t fit your needs, try another. Try. Come. You are welcomed!
Equipment for JoRene’s class: Non-skid yoga mats, knee pad, 3# hand weights, athletic shoes (supportive but not too grippy,) and a water bottle – hydration revitalizes.Fragrance-Free, please. Share the floor with kindness.
Word to the wise: For your safety, good balance and lateral movement are needed for quick aerobic moves. A fall may cause serious injury. Check with your doctor prior to beginning any exercise regimen. All Free Fitness Classes are too large to accommodate those who need special supervision. If you have shoulder, back, knee problems, anything that is painful, it is advisable to join a smaller, well-supervised class first, and consult a personal trainer or medical professional to learn modifications that are suitable to your condition. Participants need to use their judgment and body awareness… altering each exercise to prevent injury. Be careful dear ones. Welcome!
