Pickleball recognition luncheon

A new committee has been established to determine future social events for OPC. Their initial decision is to introduce an activity subsequent to the quarterly meetings called SNAPP (snacks and pickleball play). The idea is to adjourn to the ERC patio after the meetings and socially interact with other club members. Paper goods and cups will be provided by the club while members are to bring snacks and beverage of choice. Paddles are also recommended, although it will be very interesting to observe the level of play when combined with beverage of choice. The committee members (see attached photo) are: Victoria Dettman, Janet Felker, Ellie Frank, Connie Mederios, Vicki Owens and Maggie Schmidt.

The committee met on 2/19/19. As their invited guest, I was amused that their first agenda item was to sample the various punches which were made and decide which ones they wanted to serve at upcoming events. Not to my surprise, they needed more than one sampling of each punch, and to my surprise, they were able to attend to the next agenda items. It looks like we are up for a lot of fun and laughter in the upcoming months.

Appreciation Luncheon

An appreciation luncheon was held on 3/7/19 at the residence of Connie and Al Mederios. Outgoing and current board members, along with volunteers were acknowledged and treated to a wonderful lunch prepared by the newly established social committee. The highlight of the meeting was the passing of the gavel to new OPC Board President, Fred Merrill.

Next Event: OPC quarterly board meeting on 4/4/19 at 3:00 pm at ERC.
