Playreaders Upcoming Events

Oakmont Playreaders present “The Gin Game,” by D.L. Coburn on July 11 and 18.  Coming up on July 25 and Aug. 1 is “Natural Causes,” by Eric Chappell. Producer Sandy White describes it as “what can go wrong when a comedy of errors involves a British Dr. Kervorkian? Somebody dies, but is it the right person?” After that, on Aug. 8 and 15, Playreaders presents “Late Flowering,” by Chapman and Davidson. In this play, Constance Beauchamp, an elegant spinster, runs a marriage bureau that caters to the well to do in a fashionable area of London. She is assisted by a hard working secretary who is set in her ways and prefers an old fashioned filing systems. Nevertheless, Constance insists on installing a computer. The odd ball bachelor sent to instruct them on its use feeds his own details through the system to find an ideal mate. Constance, after some trial and error, is alarmed to discover she fits the bill. Join us every Monday at 2 PM.
