September Mixer – Lawn Bowling & Potluck

At our next Single Boomer event, the Lawn Bowling Club will be graciously hosting us for a pot luck BBQ on the CAC patio. We will get together Tuesday, Sept 11, at 5:00 pm next to the CAC at the lawn bowling green, to learn how the game is played, play a little while, and bowl for a bottle of wine. How cool is that! And there are lots of benches for watching if you don’t want to play. Then about 6:15 or so we will congregate on the CAC patio for our joint pot luck. The Lawn Bowling Club will be providing everyone with burgers and hot dogs, as well as veggie burgers. Each of us need to bring a side dish for 8 to go along with the burgers and hot dogs. As always, byob. SBSC will send out an invitation ahead of time and you need to respond to the rsvp. Lawn Bowling will be buying hamburgers, hot dogs, and vegetarian options based on your rsvp’s.

Reserve October 18th for our October mixer at the Berger. Feel free to dress in Halloween costume if it makes you happy and gets you giggling. We’ll be playing a Halloween themed game.

Mark Guillory has decided he must resign as vice president of SBSC because of life changes. He feels he can no longer do justice to his vice president position. We will miss him tremendously. He’s contributed so many fabulous ideas for mixer activities to get people up out of their chairs and talking to other people. All the best to you, Mark!

Our most beloved former board member Karen is still offloading her vast responsibilities to new board members Mary Costa, finance, and Priscilla Roslyn, membership. In the history of Single Boomers, Karen has taken care of finance and membership, coordinated with the big Boomer club, put together the Bon Appetit adventure, and much more! We will miss her leadership so much!!!

Single Boomers Social Club is open to any single person residing in Oakmont. Only an interest in meeting people and socializing is required.
