FIRST GRANDPARENTS WEEK FOR SHUFFLERS
The shuffleboard club will be hosting three morning sessions for grandchildren
on Monday, Wednesday and Friday of Grandparents Week July 22-26. Enrollment is already brisk, and we look forward to teaching the youngsters the basics of the sport and get them shuffling. Oakmont grandparents may be surprised how quickly the kids catch on; veterans of summer family camps have seen 8-12 year olds defeat their parents and grandparents, so you Oakmonters had better practice up. Thanks in advance to the OSC volunteers and to the Grandparents Club for helping to add this new activity to a great Oakmont tradition.
Our weekly club play starts at 9:15 for instruction and doubles play from 9:30-11:00 on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This is a newly rebooted sport at Oakmont and the option for club play on days other than Tuesdays or Thursdays is still open—just let us know and we’ll make it happen.
The shuffleboard cues and discs are stored in the Shuffleboard Locker at the back of the Berger Center; they are available every day from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Although there is plenty of seating and umbrellas for shade, please bring sunscreen and a hat.
