SIR #92 6/1/2019

SIR Branch 92

At this lunch we honor the ladies whom we love. We will have a special menu and a very special talent to celebrate our ladies. Our speaker today is pianist Deborah Knapp. Deborah is an active, performing musician. Her piano studies started at age 5, after begging her parents for a piano. With a music-loving father born in 1901, she grew up hearing many stories from the “turn-of-the-century”, and was introduced to Ragtime music early. In her thirties, Deborah studied both classical and jazz piano with professors at the SF. Conservatory of Music. That led to studying for her Masters in Piano Performance at SF State University. Before moving to Oakmont, Deborah taught piano for many years in San Francisco

She is currently enjoying the performing life in Sonoma County. She has played for theater shows for Sonoma Arts Live, Silver Moon Theatre’s Old Time Radio Shows, Avalon Players Sonoma Shakespeare, and will play keyboards this summer for Summer Repertory Theater’s production of Mamma Mia. She has played in the Wine Country Ragtime Festivals, and also plays regularly at Jack London Park for concerts and weekend visitors.

Come and enjoy the “edutainment” and a wonderful meal. Our menu features: Chicken Picatta, Salmon, or Pasta Primivera plus New York Cheesecake with raspberry topping.

SIR Branch #92 invites retired men to join our social and active club. We have fine speakers and enjoyable activities. Contact our membership captain, John Barrett at 937-6651
