SIR Branch 92 Program for 2/12/2019

SIR Branch 92

Our next excellent lunch will feature the Executive Director of Catholic Charities, Len Marabella.  Len will be speaking about the ongoing work of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Santa Rosa which focuses on homelessness and housing solutions, immigration, health and wellness, and seniors. He will address the impact of the 2017 wildfires that destroyed over 6000 homes creating urgent new needs and a new wave of highly vulnerable families and individuals. This work is a part of the overall Santa Rosa and Sonoma County solution.  He will also share Catholic Charities’ future vision.

The call to help our neighbors drew Len to Catholic Charities to serve as a volunteer, a Board member, and then as the Executive Director in Santa Rosa since 2014. He gratefully acknowledges that his Jesuit education, the call of Pope Francis, the Ignatian Spiritual Exercises, amazing staff members, and the long volunteer work of his wife, Pat, brought him to the “best job ever”.

His education includes a BS from Canisius College in Buffalo, NY, a PhD in physical chemistry from Indiana University, and postdoctoral research at MIT. Before dedicating himself to service to the community.

Be sure to mark your calendar for 11:30 AM on Tuesday, February 12, 2019.

Also a note for our golfers.  On 2/5/19 or 2/7/19 our season tournaments begin.

New members are encouraged and welcome to join our club. Interested, contact John Barrett at 537-6551.
