Small Dogs Just Wanna Have Fun!
The “Little White Dogs” of Oakmont got their day when the Canine Club sponsored a special event at Happy Tails Dog Park. This one-day-only, event, took place Saturday 9/11. Dogs of many colors, shapes, and sizes (up to 25lbs) joined the fun. Club members were on hand to answer questions about the club or the dog park. Big dogs were allowed back in the park at Noon and in the morning until 10:00 AM. The event went so well that the club will certainly be doing it again. See you at the dog park. Woof!

Members-Only Annual Picnic Back For 2021
It’s been so long since club members have seen each other and we have so many NEW members! The club is now over 150 paid members for 2021 and the annual picnic is a great time to meet everyone. Picnic is scheduled outdoors on Saturday, October 16th from 12 – 2 PM at the West Rec Picnic Area. The main entree will be supplied by Oakmont Market and Potluck style for Appetizers, Salads/Side Dishes and Desserts. Please see below for your assigned dish. If your last name begins:

A – H ***BRING A SALAD AND/OR SIDE DISH***
I – 0 ***BRING A DESSERT***
P – Z ***BRING AN APPETIZER***

This FREE event is for Canine Club members only plus a guest. Even though we are outdoors, no pup(s) are allowed; this is not our rule but OVA rules. There will be Raffle Prizes to win, games to play, and, based on our last picnic, probably way more food than we can eat! This fun event is a great way to meet fellow Woofers. An accurate head count is needed for Oakmont Market. Otherwise, there won’t be enough chicken to go around. So, it is imperative that you RSVP to Peri at: periolinger@yahoo.com, no later than October 9th, if you plan to attend. You will be sent confirmation of your RSVP, so no need to RSVP more than once.

Next Yappy Hour Group Walk – Wednesday 10/6
On walk days the meet up spot is south end of the Berger Lawn at 10 AM and walk is approximately 1 -2 miles Round Trip. Walk at your own pace. Bring water for yourself as well as your furry companion and wear comfortable walking shoes. If you live in Oakmont you’re invited; great time for new Oakmont residents to meet other “dog people”.

Canine Club Website
Check out the Canine Club website at http://www.oakmontcanineclub.org where you’ll find many resources available, including Free Merchandise. Perhaps there is an item or two that your pup could use? If so, please email Peri the item #, and it will be delivered to your doorstep. Do you have a new or gently used doggy item to post? Let Peri know that too. Also, if you would like to have your fur baby featured as “Pup of the Month”, email a photo to Steve at: shuntley@huntleyenvironmental.com.
