OVA President Steve Spanier has resigned from the OVA Board effective Nov. 20.
Spanier issued this statement: “Changing family priorities are making it impossible for me to perform the job of OVA Board member to my expectations. I am therefore resigning as an OVA board member. My final day of service will be November 20. It has been an honor and pleasure to serve as board president. I wish the board, the staff and this great community the best.”
Spanier was elected to the board in April 2018 and re-elected in 2020. He has served as president since that time. Administrative and board accomplishments during his tenure include a successful membership vote to purchase the golf course asset, as well as the completion of the East Rec Center renovation, a solar resiliency project, a dog park and several other facility improvement projects. He led a community focus on civility, education and transparency.
The OVA board will seek applicants and appoint a replacement.
