• Spring is Sprung … the Grass is Riz … Know Where All the Oakmont doggies is?
They’re out enjoying the great weather for walking, of course. Spring is arriving early this year. You’ll see “Oakmonters” outside walking in the neighborhood. If you’re a bit more adventurous, try Channel Drive, Annadel, Spring Lake, Taylor Mtn. or Hood Mtn. All are wonderful hikes to enjoy with your Pup; All within minutes of Oakmont; and all offer different skill levels. Whatever you choose, know that your pup loves walking with you!
Next Dog Walk Yappy Hour scheduled 10AM Monday March 14th. Meet up is the West Rec Picnic Area. Walk is approximately 1 – 2 mile round trip. Bring water for yourself and your pup and wear good walking shoes. Walks are casual, not a race; go at your own pace!
Keep your dog on leash and do not leave your canine companion unattended. This is Coyote mating season, (January – March). Coyotes become very aggressive during their mating season and target small and large pups alike.
• What’s happening at the Dog Park?
Next Small Dog Play Date, sponsored by the Canine Club, is Saturday, March 5th, 10 AM – Noon.
All Oakmont residents welcome with their pup(s) 25 lbs. or less. Recent Play Dates have been well attended. A possibility of adding a regular schedule of additional days/times is under consideration.
Saturday March 19th – 10AM – 12 Noon is “Rescue Dog” Play Date
Any size dog is welcome. If your dog came from a rescue organization or you took in to rehome; Come meet other Oakmont neighbors who found their dog this wonderful way.
