The Tasting Events Club is getting ready for our next virtual tasting experience – a blind tasting of six wines.
On June 17th at 5pm we will be getting together, virtually, via Zoom to sample fine Sonoma area wines, provided by The Sonoma Wine Shop. We have designed the Tasting Events Club experiences to be highly interactive, with the goal of offering to Oakmonters: “Great Tasting, Great People and Great Fun”. And for now, from the safety of your home!
The Sonoma Wine Shop will provide each participant with wines from two varietals: Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Each varietal will feature three different wines, each selected from fine boutique Sonoma wineries. The wines will be supplied in numbered, 4 oz, sealed bottles. The event presents an opportunity to taste, discuss and rate each wine. And with Zoom polling of wine Trivia – to have Fun!

Yes, this will be a Blind Tasting. If you have been to a Blind Tasting before you know the thrill and excitement of judging the wine and waiting for the reveal of the label. If you have not been to a Blind Tasting before – here is your chance.
The Sonoma Wine Shop experts will be on the Zoom call to describe, discuss, and answer your questions regarding each wine and winery. Plus, we expect some mystery guests to be joining the Zoom tasting event to offer their wisdom and stories about the wines and wineries.

As always, the Tasting Events Club experience will have a Zoom polling-based Trivia contest to have you make your best guess on the winery, region and other wine related trivia. There will be prizes for the top three Trivia Contest winners, generously provided by Sonoma Wine Shop’s affiliate La Bodega kitchen!

Joining the Tasting Events Club’s June 17th event is easy! Just purchase the six wines directly, for just $34 + tax (a $60 retail value), from the Sonoma Wine Shop by ordering online by typing in this link: The link will also be in Oakmont’s forthcoming E-Blasts. All the wines are delivered to Oakmont for pick up or to your door. We will email you a simple Zoom link to join the Tasting Event Club June 17th event a few days before the event.

Keep Your Fingers Crossed…. In the near future, the Tasting Events Club hopes to announce our first in-person event to be held at an Oakmont Rec center. We have not set the date yet, but it will feature “Great Tasting, Great People and Great Fun”. To join our mailing list drop us a line at

9/11 Memories and Exercise

Today we remember the day that shocked and shook the world with a painful look back. This is also a time to look ahead at how to mitigate lingering negative responses. Living in constant concern, anxiety and fear robs the good from each day. Deep breathing and reading comics may be ways to cope. Talking to a positive person might be another. And still a third: exercise.
