David was now in Hebron, and the thirty year old is about to be the anointed king over the house of Judah. God’s chosen king faithfully made his way through struggles, events and decisions by inquiring of God for answers and direction. David used diplomacy in the steps toward his destiny given by God as ruler over all Israel.
The leader of Israel met with resistance from the Jebusites of Jerusalem ;so David dwelt in his own place and called it The City of David. And The Lord was with him. David continued seeking God’s counsel, and The Lord commanded him during his battles. Again, David gathered together the thirty thousand chosen men of Israel. He went with all that were present to bring up the Ark of God, whose name is called The Lord of Hosts. This is the most important of all David’s accomplishments. The Ark of The Lord continued in the house of Obed-edom;and The Lord blessed this house and everyone who pertained to the man, Obed-edom. Then David brought up The Ark of God from the house of Obed-edom into The City of David.
There is still time to join tis study where the characters change, and David’s faith does not.
