Wine Tasting Event with Sonoma Wine Shop

This event has already happened.

The highly interactive Zoom online event designed to be fun, educational and ‘competitive’ with chances to win!

The Oakmont Tasting Events Club held its inaugural wine tasting with two French selections; a Chateau Magnan-Gigeac Grand Cru St. Emilion and a Forian Mollet Pouilly-Fume, rated 92 and 94 points respectively.

The Zoom get together was held on March 18 and attended by more than 30 Oakmonters with the wine provided through a local retailer – Wine Spies – at a significant discount to club members. The event featured a brief overview of the two wines, the regions and winemakers. Participants at the Zoom event were still able to interact with other club members, comment on their sensory experience of the selections and rate the wines. But most of all – we had fun!

The Tasting Event also featured a Trivia Contest. The competition was fierce as participants answered Zoom polling questions about wine varietals, regions and history. Three winners received a bottle of fine French wines!

We hope you will join us for our next Zoom Tasting Event on Thu. May 6th, which will feature six different Sonoma wines! Check the next Oakmont News for more details. The Tasting Event Club is planning on live and in person fun wine tasting experiences with learning, trivia, food and friendship later this year. Until then, eat, drink, be merry and … please stay safe!
