Garden Club

ABOUT THE CLUB: Welcome to the Oakmont Garden Club! You don’t need to be a gardener to join us, an appreciation of gardens is all you need. Gardens – whether they be small or large, sparse or full, shade or sun, formal or wild – provide us with a special place to commune with nature and experience peace and tranquility. Our goal is to provide members with seasonal information presented by knowledgeable speakers and demonstrators. Our members tell us they always learn something new with each presentation. We have a speaker or a demonstration at each monthly meeting. Check our article in the Oakmont News for information on upcoming presentations. Whenever we can gather together 4 or 5 willing homeowners, we organize and host the popular Oakmont Garden Tour. This has been embraced by Oakmont residents and we would like to make it an annual affair. Owners are proud to open their gardens for the enjoyment of all Oakmonters and their guests. Any Oakmont garden can be a part of the tour, not just member gardens. If you love your garden, others will too! We offer a field trip each Spring within a day’s bus trip and publish tour information in our Oakmont News column. This, too, is open to all Oakmont residents, with seating priority to club members. We begin our general meeting with a social period where members and guests enjoy delicious baked goods, coffee or tea, and friendship. We are always looking to expand our membership, so come be our guest at an upcoming meeting. We hope you’ll find our club a good fit and join us!
