During February there were two instances of Oakmont home break-ins, both in the Stone Bridge neighborhood.
A special neighborhood meeting, co-sponsored by Oakmont Meet Your Neighbors (MYN), has been arranged to speak to this issue. Cheri Kraus from the Santa Rosa Police Department will be at the West Rec Center on March 17 from 4-5:30 p.m. to share the department’s thoughts and suggestions on this and related concerns, including the Neighborhood Watch program. National Neighborhood Watch is a division of the National Sheriffs’ Association with the goal of empowering citizens and communities to become active in emergency preparedness, as well as the fight against crime.
The Neighborhood Watch program is similar to Oakmont’s Meet Your Neighbors program. Neighbors Knowing Neighbors, the guiding principle of MYN, is a critical component of safety.
Note: Remember to attend the MYN monthly meeting on March 25 at 2 PM in the ERC. Our guests will be from the County’s Emergency Management Dept.
