Committee Report

Long Range Planning: On hold regarding the Central Complex pending further direction from the OVA Board. A subcommittee is exploring the 2020 census to provide a demographic summary of Oakmont and to compare to the 2010 census with report to be completed in early 2025.

Meet Your Neighbors: Katy Carrell and staff member Dani Hannigan have completed the digital version of the MYN coverage map. The 2025 Fire Safe Fair is set for April 24, 1-5 p.m.

Governing Documents Committee Update
Board approved charter up to 7 members, 5 members have been approved by committee and will be voted on at January board meeting. Any amendments to the governing documents have been tabled and will be addressed at the January Meeting.

Acceptance of Board Secretary Position

2025 Insurance Renewals
Approved the Cline Insurance Agency insurance proposals in the amount not to exceed $290,000 with funds allocated from the operating account.

Election Rules
Approved the revised OVA 2025 Election Rules (in concept) as recommended by the Board of Directors, to be posted on the Berger bulletin board, on the Oakmont Village website (www.oakmontvillage.com) and available in the OVA office as soon as practicable to allow 28‐day review by members of the Association.

Berger Projector Replacement
Approved purchase of a new projector and having the existing projector repaired and used as a backup with a cost not to exceed $14,000.

Committee Liaisons
Director Steve Spillman suggested that board liaisons for committees should not unduly influence committee actions unless they deviate from board policies or violate the law. He also questioned the need for alternate liaisons as they are rarely needed. Director Olga Ydrogo offered that it is helpful to have another individual prepared to step in if necessary.

Central Complex Update
General Manager Christel Antone said that a meeting with ALX was postponed until January, and there will be more information after that meeting, as nothing has changed since the last update.

Important Dates to remember:
Jan. 9 is the last day nominations will be accepted for the incoming board.
Jan. 20, 10 a.m. in the East Rec is an informational session for people interested in serving on the OVA board or the sub-HOA boards
The OVA board election will be held on April 7.

2025 Dues Increase
Starting in January, dues will increase to $128.50 per resident.
