“Small is Beautiful,” a short documentary film about the Sonoma Development Center (SDC) housing proposal, will be shown January 16 at 2 p.m. in the Berger Center. The film is written, directed and produced by local filmmaker Carolyn Scott. The Oakmont Community Foundation is providing funding for this special showing in Oakmont.
The film, which features cinematography by local photographer Jim Codington, focuses on the debate surrounding the proposed development of the SDC, a state-owned property nestled between Eldridge and Glen Ellen at the base of Sonoma Mountain. The event will also feature a panel of speakers knowledgeable with the history and trajectory of the property proposals over the years. Susan Chauncy, an OCF director, said the film is an opportunity for Oakmont to understand the potential impact on the community and ask questions of the panel.
