Hello Oakmonters,
Late breaking news from the building department regarding East Rec parking lot and street digging-
1. Due to city workload, their Friday half day work schedule and Monday being a holiday, they cannot release the fireline permit until Tuesday.
2.The other promised permit release being processed is the encroachment permit (digging starting in the street and then Going into the parking lot toward the building) This permit is being handled by the Public Works division in coordination with the water department.
Last week Our superintendent was informed we would not have to shut the water off and could use a “hot tap” connection at the street. The public works dept. has now decided that since an erupted water line break occurred in that part of Oakmont Drive by East Rec fairly recently and arbitrarily in the middle of the night, they will not allow a hot tap and will require water to be shut down to certain residents in that vicinity later this week.
Summary-
East Rec Parking lot open til Wednesday.
Water shutoff for nearby residents for half day coming later next week.
