I’m a little older today than before. But in years gone by I’ve learned a few things. As a Vietnam combat vet, public school teacher, union organizer & negotiator, and then after “crossing over” as a management consultant, I have always wanted to make a difference. That’s why I am running for the OVA Board.

Any of the past or future challenges the Board has or will contend with, can be solved by dedication and hard work.  I’m in for that! Which is one of the reasons I pledge to work towards getting more people involved in both the current and future directions of Oakmont. Without this, the Board’s most important job of accurately discerning the wants and needs of residents, to then take reasonable action, becomes almost unattainable.  My 30+ years of resolving organizational issues, and managing sensitive problems by building cohesive teams, will help encourage cooperation among OVA Board members.

I say this because it is important for you to know where I stand. My pledges are simple. I commit and promise to:

  1. Listen to Oakmont residents and Board members, to understand.
  2. Try not to be developing a reply while listening.
  3. Be cautious but deliberate in my judgements after honest evaluation.
  4. Take prompt reasonable actions after sound discernment.
  5.  Reserve my time and energy for the priorities of affordability and transparency

Last, you should know I possess the honesty and ability to stand up for fairness, even if it means losing. I look forward to earning your support and bringing my talents and expertise to the OVA Board, by continuing to advance Oakmont’s success.
