Oakmont facilities now have new green compost bins and more blue recycling bins, all clearly labeled with pictures, as a way to reduce our community’s landfill waste.
Event coordinators and club leaders can help our community’s “reduce and reuse” efforts by encouraging attendees to recycle items like glass bottles and aluminum cans in the blue bins. Residents can also support these efforts by using reusable place settings and tablecloths.
The green compost bins are not only for food waste, but also accept food-soiled uncoated paper plates, napkins, and fiber and bamboo utensils. Plant-based compostable plastics are not accepted in the compost bins and should be thrown in the trash.

Thank you for being a part of the solution.
