In January, 2023, volunteers were asked to help prioritize the thousands of ideas that were generated during the Community Conversations which resulted in the publication of the Activity Status of Oakmont 2030 detailing almost 200 concepts that emerged for further study.

A March 15 Town Hall informed the community about the 15 short-term and 16 long-term ideas that the working groups and volunteers had determined as a good place to start. In June, a Town Hall looked at the status of current proposals, aspects of long-range thinking, the 2023 Club Survey on Space Needs, Oakmont reserve study and alternative financing options.

In July, the Spring 2023 Club Survey was finalized. It echoed the results found in 2020, providing even greater detail that showed: 

  1. A peak-load space shortage of desired space with stiff competition for spaces at preferred times of the day
  2. A list of much needed improvements to existing spaces 
  3. The need for improved alignment of space and club needs 

The report concluded that, “Going forward to 2030, demand for space will become more acute. Many clubs are reporting growth in attendance, and new clubs are likely to emerge as Oakmont residents continue to flourish in an active adult community.

In August 2023, the Long-Range Planning Committee submitted a resolution to the Board that gave General Manager, Christel Antoine the authority to develop a scope of work for a professional community planner to examine alternatives for the Central Complex. 

In December, 2023, the Board approved the hiring of ArchiLOGIX to develop “three multiple concept plan options for addressing the future needs of the Oakmont Central Complex as generated by Oakmont 2030 Community Conversations.”
